FAQ

General Information

A hackathon is an event where participants collaborate on coding projects, typically over the course of several hours or days. Teams work together to develop software or hardware solutions, often centered around a specific theme or challenge.

Attending Liftoff is completely free! Meals and accommodations are provided, though transportation expenses are not covered.

Liftoff is open exclusively to high school students. To apply, simply fill out the Google Form linked at the top.

Team & Participation

You can participate individually or in a team of up to four members. If you don’t have a team beforehand, don’t worry—teams can be formed at the event!

At the start of the hackathon, there will be a team formation session for participants who are looking for teammates.

Not at all! Liftoff is designed to be beginner-friendly, making it a great opportunity to learn and gain experience.

No, all work must be done during the official hacking period. Any prior work will not be allowed.

Event Logistics

Liftoff will be an in-person event only. There is no virtual option available.

Yes! Lunch, dinner, and snacks will be available throughout the event.

Be sure to bring your student ID, laptop, charger, mouse, any hardware you plan to use, a water bottle, and anything else you'll need to stay comfortable during the 28-hour event.
